Council Launches New Energy Savers Scheme

Thanks to a £200,000 investment, over 100 households in the Wakefield district are set to benefit from an energy saving scheme.
With free cavity wall and loft insulation available for homeowners and private rented tenants that qualify.

Wellbeck Walks

Guided walks around the future Welbeck Country Park took place on 8th and 19th May. The walks lasted 2 hours, focusing on Ferryboat Fields.

There was a really good turnout, with positive discussions about what the community would like to see on the site.
There were also discussions on biodiversity, habitat creation and maintenance, spaces for sitting to enjoy nature and viewpoints. Plus, important conversations around accessibility, signage, antisocial behaviour and the feeling of safety at the site.

The Countryside Team is arranging dates for similar events on St John’s Flank. If you would be interested in joining, email countryside_admin@wakefield.gov.uk for more information.
