We are developing a Moss Garden within an area/garden which is already supporting Moss (the triangle garden at the bottom of Silcoates Lane/ Wrenthorpe Lane).
The idea is to have a learning Moss Garden.
This will enable us to promote the environmental solutions of moss, trying to live with it rather than removing it and promoting its use for the following:-
Water conservation
Storm water filtration
Reduce pollution
Reduce use of home chemicals used for killing mosses and secondary reduced run off into water courses
Reduced need to mow a moss garden
We will develop an area of the garden enhancing the moss species and encouraging the public to visit touch and understand the value of moss.
