Tubs And Planters
In numerous locations around Wrenthorpe Village tubs and planters have been planted with colourful plants which are then maintained and looked after by members of Wrenthorpe Environmental Society.
Balsam Bashing
Members of Wrenthorpe Environmental Society recognise the destructive nature of Himalayan Balsam, a non-native, invasive plant that has become widespread along riverbanks and ditches and take action to remove it.
Sunday Spruces
An Award wining activity carried out by Wrenthorpe Environmental Society members, the Monthly Sunday Spruces. These are carried out throughout the year in Wrenthorpe park and local areas to keep Wrenthorpe village an environment we all wish to live in.
Learning Moss Garden
We are developing a Moss Garden within an area/garden which is already supporting Moss (the triangle garden at the bottom of Silcoates Lane/Wrenthorpe Lane). The idea is to have a learning Moss Garden.
Beds and Garden Areas
Wrenthorpe Environmental Society members have planted and maintain flower beds and garden areas in seven locations in the village.
Orchards and Bulbs
Wrenthorpe Environmental Society members have planted bulbs in eleven locations around the village and provide ongoing maintenance as well as looking after three orchards.
